Gravity Gear, as the global distributor of the Gravity Gear/Beal product range is hereby informing you of a product recall on the Gravity Gear Elasticated Shock Absorber (RLAS LANYARD WITH ELASTIC WEBBING) manufactured by BEAL SARL (Madagascar).

During an internal quality control check, it was found by the manufacturer that the Gravity Gear Elasticated Shock Absorber does not fully comply with the static strength requirement of the EN 355 Standard. BEAL SARL have therefore issued a voluntary recall letter.

We have, upon receipt of the notification, commissioned additional testing on the relevant product. We are satisfied, based on these test results, that the product complies with the remaining requirements of EN 355.

Gravity Gear is further satisfied, that the single deviation to the standard, does not pose a safety risk to the user of the product, in line with its intended use instructions. Therefore, it is not a safety requirement to stop using the current products (as stipulated below) until the replacement products are received by you, through this recall process.

You are required to notify us on this dedicated email address (gearsupport@gravitygh.co.za) of the unique serial numbers that can be found per the diagram below for the relevant products still in use. A Gravity Gear representative will contact you for the necessary arrangements
