Gravity Gear Elasticated Shock (Energy) Absorber
Dear Valued Customer
Gravity Gear, as the global distributor of the Gravity Gear/Beal product range is hereby informing you of a product replacement on the Gravity Gear Elasticated Shock Absorber (RLAS LANYARD WITH ELASTIC WEBBING) manufactured by BEAL SARL (Madagascar).
During an internal quality control check, it was found by the manufacturer that the Gravity Gear Elasticated Shock Absorber does not fully comply with the static strength requirement of the EN 355 Standard. BEAL SARL have therefore issued a voluntary recall letter.
We have, upon receipt of the notification, commissioned extensive additional independent testing on the relevant product. We are satisfied, based on these test results, that the product complies with the remaining requirements of EN 355.
Gravity Gear is further satisfied, that the single deviation to the standard, does not pose a safety risk to the user of the product, in line with its intended use instructions.
It is our view that this is a technical recall, and that there is not a safety requirement to stop using the current products (as stipulated below) based on the single identified deviation.
As a value adding service, we would, however, like to offer you a replacement component or product (the Gravity Gear Rope Shock Absorber) for all the Gravity Gear Elasticated Shock Absorber units bought with the below batch ranges from the year 2018 to 2022.
